Believe 03:29
“Believe” Jensen Reed Verse 1 Broken wings sing the songs weaving through the night And if it’s half past ten them I’m gonna see you to the truth tonight I heard the fights, the rights of the righteous The price people pay to pave the way when no one likes us Inspiration costs about fifty pennies And anyway you say it the relay it and get plenty Semi-glazed, automatic, razor sharp edges Maximize potential when you’re living in the trenches kid I reminisce on the days when I had a funny feeling Like it was meant to be the energy was at the ceiling Stealing glimpses of the mind, all the planets in line And Einstein’s theory nearly captured time I finally had a reason to rhyme And when the world watches over me I’m gonna have a reason to shine Grounded by the only thing that I can call my own The music of my life is right here in this song Chorus Now you gotta believe what you’re saying Yea you gotta believe in what you’re doing Said you gotta believe when your back’s against the wall Standing tall never fall you can have it all Verse 2 I never second guessed myself but I always had a backup plan Problem is the biz I’m in needs discipline, enlist demands There’s no path and the fact remains That there’s no set way to spit verses, sing the refrains It’s insane when you write, it’s a fight ‘til the end When you’re driven and you’re livin’ through The sounds and the words in your pen I gotta win…it’s only fair I’ve been dreaming about this life since I was 10 But the deck of cards it ain’t always stacked to beat the house Slimy pit bosses love your losses playing cat and mouse With your hope, sliding down a slippery slope I feel the noose closing tighter with the rope around my throat Quote the coattails, whatever someone else would think would sell Playing in a pile of cash, burning in hell Because the songs that you write might make a million bucks But that don’t mean they’re special Throw the garbage on the truck Chorus Verse 3 Break down, shake down Battle tested from my years on the grind Ready for the takedown Deeper shade of soul rocks the rhythm to the roll Big drums hittin’ hard, time to take control of the story What goes around comes around Bangin’ up my head against the wall Lens focused on the background 95% of what you hear might make a difference If it’s spoken from a place that was true…good riddance Innocence is lost, account for the cost Credits and the debits show a profit double-crossed But I’m not gonna be the one to give up all my time When the line has been drawn, it’s a crime to be weak The strong will survive through the words that speak And I treat every day like a gift, no receipt Pain is only temporary, pleading with the past No returns, take this job and shove it up your ass Chorus Outro Now you gotta believe baby Said you gotta believe Now you gotta believe baby Said you gotta believe in me…

“Find Your Way” Jensen Reed Verse 1 Writing with a plan, born in the city I gotta give ‘em what they want Now they all with me They got my back like I’m wearing a jacket When in fact it’s the track that be smacking ‘em backwards Put your lighters in the air, you’ve seen it before You never really had enough until you’re wanting more They like the feeling when it’s rushing through their veins An ice, cold liquor drink to make you go insane A little bit of spice in the sauce and I’m game I’m down for whatever, did you hear my campaign? Politicking through the streets of life And I’m out on my own I’m in a zone making deals, making moves setting the tone A cool, clean style, bad to the bone I’m busy building a career and a mid-century home And now it’s on You’re hearing me on every corner You better listen when I tell you ‘Cause I tried, I tried to warn you Chorus Hey hey what you gotta say Won’t you find your way? Before tomorrow’s gone Made you grow but I want you to know That I will stand on my own It will not be long ‘Til I gotta press on And I need to find a way To make it all worthwhile Fight, fight for your right in the game I always loved the way You said my name Verse 2 All alone with my headphones on, I feel the rhythm But I’m dealing with some problems on my own Cause I try so hard just to keep an even head Push the levels up some more, remember what you said Now it’s fuel for the fire got a burning desire To leave a legacy of excellence, be someone to admire Say my name when you’re driving through the night When there’s no one else to call, made equivalent the light Girl I’ll catch you when you fall, tell me if the time is right Do you dream to have it all and a future shining bright? I’m right behind you standing there strong And I know where to find you when the days have been long You’ve been living every minute like your last Push the pedal to the medal You’re running out of gas but you never want to settle for less ‘Cause your success is just a breath away And when you wake up in the morning It’s another chance, find your way Chorus
3.
“That Something” Jensen Reed Chorus Ooh, you got that something That something that will never lie That something is the reason that I’m believing In you, so give it a try When they tell you that it’s never enough I’m gonna tell you, the journey is tough So keep your head up high Your eyes on the prize That something’s gonna pay off Verse 1 Now there’s something deep inside that won’t ever get lost Something looking to the other side trying to bridge across Something new, something brave, something wild and insane Something hot to nod your head to…ya’ll know the name Jensen Reed speak in tounges spit it back at the mic Caught you by surprise (huh?), didn’t think I’d be tight? Well I got news for you homie, I can flow all night Peak physical condition with a real sharp bite Moving at the speed of sound makes my voice sound nice I want a 5 and a 2 on the face of the dice Got some gamble in me, it’s hard to handle when we Get to gettin’ what we got when the gettin’ is good Fresh produce in my basket of songs Entertain us, here we are, before I’m gone Got something for the curtain call I’m in the prime of my life, having a ball Chorus Verse 2 For as long as she remembers she was hot on the scene Everybody did a double take her walk was mean That something started young, filled her lungs up with air No looking back baby, the coast is clear Had plans of moving up to New York Cause in a place like that, energy flows all over the map She attacked with a passion burning hot as the sun Had a snaky suspicion, she’s about to be the one Now it comes and it goes just as fast as the grains Of sand through the hourglass, sit and watch the hours pass Understand it’s just part of the game You might lose it for a minute but that something remains So she took a little journey down memory lane Had the guts to look herself in the mirror Now it all seems clear That something is her ticket to the top You damn right she’s gonna give it everything she’s got Chorus Verse 3 When you look into the crystal ball what will you see? Too close to call, was time let go for free? Now most of all I’m fighting for that something That I can call my own That something that would let me be alive and not alone I was losing sleep but I could feel Something in your eyes that was real Something in your eyes that was real… Ooh, you got that something That something that will never lie...

How It Goes 02:51
“How It Goes” Jensen Reed Chorus It’s been a long day, now try to see where I’m coming from You would always ask if you wanted some It took my best to be the one See the one time when I swallowed my pride And it was enough just to tell me “Ok” This is how it goes when you know That you had to take it slow Now you’re moving real fast away Verse 1 She’s a busy body working up a sweat Got her focused on the lens, a serious threat Yea along came Polly and she made me a star I was bragging to my homies, “Dude, this chick is a star!” Well I had to take it slow, you know how it goes Played it cool, undercover, played it like a pro Now she’s feeling like she’s walking on water Show that pretty smile every time that you’re thought of Can it really be that she’s just this nice? Guess I’ll have to see if she has a price ‘Cause I’m skeptical, and respectable And when I meet your Momma She’s gonna love, she’s gonna plant the seed Baby girl I’ll give you everything you’d ever need You don’t gotta be the baddest thing on the scene so clean The hottest couple, double trouble, know what I mean? Yea love is in the air and I’m starting to dream Chorus Verse 2 Lucky little lade looking like she’s lost Like she used to tell me “Baby, we can have it all” We can travel the seas, we can walk in the breeze While we moving to the rhythm of a different drum Boom Boom in your room with the windows open She’s so amazing! I’m wide open Coming soon to a theatre near you, a tragic ending for two You play the role of the trollup, I play the role of the fool Blind to the fact that you were out for just you How could you possibly think that was cool? Man it’s kinda crazy that you got my heart ‘Cause under normal circumstances I’d of seen it from the start The world goes round and round And every time that you think you’re on top You can fall down It’s a lesson that I learned for a special price Never trust some pretty eyes and a smile that’s nice Chorus
6.

Verse1 All along I had an idea, singing my song is the signal clear? What you want to hear? That’s so last year Man the music makes my ears go numb Some these rappers really can’t flow Some these beats just really ain’t tight Some of this garbage makes me lose my marbles Almost every night Just gimme the light, gimme the light I need to set my sights on heights The price is right, tonight’s the night and I’m gonna live it right Living in the land where the Lakers rule Kobe taking everybody else to school Fadeaway jumpshot, tomahawk dunk what? 24’s game is so damn cool Hootie hoo what they’re calling when they’re ballin’ Got ‘em falling down, ooh he’s the talk of the town And now they looking around, booking the sound, checking him twice Cooking it brown, know what you got Give me the crown, know what you’re not, pound for pound I try to emulate the present state of mind Push the thoughts back that say I’m running out of time Almost lost that, hey here we go again Gotta prove myself some more but I’m starting to win Chorus Verse 2 Now I’m running but I know they won’t forget me The camera’s rolling, so I’m flowing never let me down Anytime I need someone there to catch me You were on my side I know how hard that you tried Make you proud, make you sing it loud All my people back home, can you see me now? I’m riding dirty down the 101 Soaking up the summer sun You’re looking at a smoking gun Who might just be the one Verse 3 Now he said you can’t go on, you won’t ever be strong Did you really think you’d move to Hollywood And have an impact? I got my rims black so wear your chinstrap Lights Out 56 San Diego with the sack In the biggest of cities with the brightest of dreams No matter what people say, it ain’t as hard as it seems See the future it stands in the palm of your hand Don’t want to see it washed away like a beach full of sand Brave enough to lose yourself to a brand new beginning Build a business with your name Opportunities for fame, wealth, happiness, respect Jensen Reed’s a HOT name and I’m shuffling the deck I got my swagger back like Mick Jagger said Don’t play with me dude ‘cause you’re playing with fire I’m hot like a North Carolina summer night Man it’s gorgeous out in Cali ain’t the spring time nice? Chorus
11.
“Sunset (feat. Lauren Mayhew & Ryan Blakeley Smith)" Jensen Reed Verse 1 So here we go we got it going on and the minute that I saw her Had a twinkle in her eye as she walking by A little bit of confidence was overflowing So I stepped up to the plate and told her hello J E N S E N pleased to meet you with a grin Talk about a nice surprise, I’ve been waiting to win All my life say it twice you know it happened before When she walked in the door, my jaws dropped to the floor And I’ll write a little diddy about how pretty she is A country girl with some with some city sass all in a twist I know the risks but you take ‘em when you’re feeling good It’s just the brakes when you miss ‘em and you wish you would Had the nerve to put your guard down just for a second Let you light shine through in the right direction I want the grand scheme of dreams and a bright complexion All I gotta do is keep my eyes on the road Chorus Sunrise sunset never know what you get Til you put yourself out on the line As the world keeps spinning I’m beginning to remember What we had when we said goodbye Now time will tell and I hear you’re doing well Gotta ask you was it worth the wait? Thought about a lot of reasons But I kept on believing Looking back was just never the same Verse 2 Baby I can dream, I can make believe I can tell you what you need when you’re coming to me No running around when you’re out on the town I see you got what you want, now you want to get down Have you found what you’re looking for? Did it change your life for the better? Were you lost now you’re wanting more? How many trips to the liquor store? I got a feeling she’s believing I’m gonna be the one to break Maintain with a fuller frame, sharp mind, big dreams Mama look at me I’m doing my thing They tell you take the higher road Well if I’m leaving then I’m going, will I ever know? So when you lay your head in the clouds don’t rip em apart Don’t lie in the lines of loving, living in the days of trusting I’ll write you a new song Chorus Verse 3 So close but you notice that you’re blowing in the breeze Damn it’s tough to be in the lead Getting carried away by a wave in the bay Nothing going through your mind just to make it through the day So you write some words on a page and you sing them up above Can you see the look on my face? This time you better find your way Back home in the only safe and lonely place If you need some time then I surely understand Been going through the motions won’t you take my hand? All the way down from the plane This is not gonna be the day I let you get away Can’t help what you’re feeling inside I don’t need to be right, I don’t need to see why I just want you to know Part of me is terrified of loving alone And on we go… Chorus
12.
“After The War (feat. superbeautiful)” Jensen Reed & Christian James Hand Verse 1 I was standing on the edge of what I had to face Legend of the fall, furious collapse from grace It had been a long time since I felt that way Swimming in the indecision of my darkest days Spiral down abyss got me gasping for air Listless electricity ,the thoughts I bear I tried so hard, so many times to carry through To lay to rest all the mess, to press undo But no frame of mind could ever save me At least that’s what I told myself daily I thought I was alone until I looked in the sky Then I knew I could change and I started to try I gave it all up with the hope That I would one day compose with the harmony note A symphony soaring through the key of your life When you think it’s too much, stand up and fight Chorus I want to say the answer isn’t anything you’ve heard before I want to tell you everything begins again after the war Verse 2 You know that cold, dark feeling pounding in your guts Quiet little voices in your head, shhh, listen up They are telling you to play it safe To watch the day-to-day fly by terrified, without a trace So you give in, believe all the lies The stage is too big, why bother? Don’t try A leader died would you ever know their name? Rise up to the surface take control of the game It’s all the same no matter where you’re born or you live Watch the chains unravel when you start to forgive…yourself now Throw your hands in the air Let the wave hit you hard now you hardly care Breathe it down deep as you can Twisted knot in your stomach now you finally understand What it feels like to be fearless instead Full moon rising, the sky is red Chorus I want to say the answer isn’t anything you’ve heard before I want to tell you everything begins again after the war Middle 8 Don’t speak, let ‘em hear your heart sing You’re afraid, scared what tomorrow brings Same nightmares driving you crazy Trying hard to see the reason but your vision is hazy Look for the signs, open your eyes Hoping ammunition is enough to disguise Cock back, stop that, steady change ready aim Fire when you feel the blood pumping through your veins The shadowland is begging for our souls Chorus

about

"Forget About The Cameras" was written over a period of three years following my move from Chapel Hill, NC to Los Angeles, CA in April of 2007. Many of the songs echo the pursuit of my dream and the hard work required to stick with it and make it happen. Throughout my career, I have always taken great pride in writing from a place of truth and blending genres of music to create songs that blur the lines of classification and that cannot be placed in a pigeonhole.

In the summer of 2009 I was fortunate to begin working with Christian James Hand in a writing and production capacity. I originally planned on releasing a 5 or 6 song EP but I realized that I had enough solid material for a full-length album so we took on the project. It is a year later and I couldn’t be more pleased with the results of our countless hours in the studio spent tirelessly pursuing sonic perfection. The entire process was truly collaborative and as a result, I am a better artist and person. Thank you Christian…

I would also like to thank the many talented artists that I was fortunate to work with on the record…Silla of Binary Star, James Kenney, Lauren Mayhew, Michael Vincze, Holly Brook, Ryan Blakeley Smith, and superbeautiful. Each one of you lent your special talents and flavor to this record and I am forever grateful.

In closing, I am blessed to have had the support of wonderful family, friends, and fans throughout this long journey towards success. I cannot express how much it means to me to have you with me…rest assured, moving forward I will continue to work hard, carry myself with integrity, and make you all proud. It’s happening…
